How do I determine who will be my JLab host?

A Host is a JSA employee responsible for the activities associated with the successful accomplishment of a Guest’s access. Except for foreign nationals of state sponsors of terrorism, a foreign national who is a DOE employee or JSA employee may be a host. All hosts must complete Jefferson Lab’s Hosting Foreign Nationals Training (GEN006) before hosting a foreign national Guest.

A Guest determines who will be their assigned host by:

  • Communicating with your institution advisor;
  • Communicating with your collaboration colleagues;
  • Communicating with your approved experiment spokesperson; and/or
  • Communicating with JLab Hall Leaders

Once a Guest has determined their JLab host:

  • Contact your JLab host to determine whether you will need onsite or remote access
  • Contact your JLab host to determine what trainings are required for your type of access and parameters of access purpose
  • Contact your JLab host to determine your timeframe of access
  • Contact your JLab host to receive instructions for access process, unique research responsibilities and travel/lodging information (if applicable)
  • Contact your JLab host before making any arrangements to arrive onsite at JLab
