JLab Local Linux Mirrors

JLab hosts internal mirrors for common Linux distributions at https://cnim.jlab.org/mirror.

Supported Distributions:

• AlmaLinux
• Debian
• Raspberry Pi OS (RPi / ARM)

Why Use the Internal Mirror?

• Network Access: Upstream external mirrors are often unreachable from protected internal VLANs (such as the Farm, code.jlab.org builders, Hall networks, etc).
• Performance: Pulling packages locally can significantly reduces download times.

Configuration

If your system resides in a protected VLAN, upstream repositories may fail during package installation or system updates. Update your package manager configuration (e.g., /etc/apt/sources.list or /etc/yum.repos.d/) to point to the corresponding distribution directory under:
